Meet the people who developed CanSim

Dr. Singapogu is a recognized expert in the field of simulation-based skills training. He is an entrepreneurial academic with >10 years of experience, teaching both biomedical engineering and entrepreneurship courses at Clemson University.The brilliant mind and visionary behind the simulator.

Mr. Petersen is a seasoned clinician and leader with over a decade of experience as a registered nurse in a multi-state healthcare setting. He has extensive clinical and leadership experience, with focus on nursing business operations, project management, and system focused technology solutions.

Dr. Petersen is a key technical architect of CanSim, and has spearheaded the plan to transition CanSim from academia to a commercial-ready product. Her PhD work involved data collected using CanSim. She leads the engineering and technical aspects of CanSim.

Dr. Sierad has extensive experience leading teams through the design and manufacturing of tissue bioreactor systems used for regenerative medicine applications. He still serves as an adjunct faculty member at Clemson University, where he launched the Advanced Bioreactor Design and Development Lab in 2019.

Dr. Roy-Chaudhury is a Professor of Medicine in the UNC School of Medicine and Co-Director of UNC Kidney Center. He is recognized as an international leader in the dialysis vascular access field (with over 100 publications on this topic) and has also been involved in the public policy aspects of innovation and product development as the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Co-Chair of the Kidney Health Initiative, a public-private partnership between the ASN and the FDA.
